IF YOU'RE ABSENT...

  1. I try not to be absent. True, I've slacked off with comments and emails; nevertheless, I read your blogs and stories. Great work.

  4. A clever story. I nearly missed the teeth, what with all tho bones around.

    1. Hi Mike: I found the scene with all those bones pretty creepy and wondered how in the devil would I come up with a story. Then my eye focused on the two tiny items sitting on the gray rock and a story gave birth. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Hi Lora, I've been having trouble posting to your blog but will try again. I find it interesting that even though you don't mention the feelings of the parents, we know what they are, based on the story and the last line especially.

  6. Hi Janet: Thank you for trying to post again. Limited to 100-words, I had to find a way to represent their feelings. Against all odds, they held steadfast and never gave up. Finances depleted, they sold their home, family treasures and hired outside help..an ex-marine and his "cadaver" dog, Buster. The result of their perseverance: Case Re-opened.
