TO ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS, FELLOW BLOGGERS AND FRIDAY FICTIONEERS...

  1. Lora, I have been contemplating doing the very same thing too (taking a much needed break). After this week's story, I think perhaps the time has come for me too to do that. I am having my cataract surgeries done staring next Tues. and the second one on the 22nd, so will need to give my eyes a rest anyway. Take care and stay in touch on facebook or e-mail.

  2. Dear Lora,
I hope you enjoy your rest. In any case, thank you for the beautiful photo. As you can see, it inspired a nice variety of stories.
    Shalom my friend,
    Rochelle

  3. I replied to your above post yesterday but guess it did not go through. Anyway, I am also taking a break from Friday Fictioneers for a while. I had decided to make my last story the last one posted in Dec. ("Benefactor"), then when I saw your beautiful picture used for this week's photo prompt I decided to do a story for that one. There is one or two FF writers that did not like it. They thought it was a bit crude for a tribute to the shooting victims and their families during 2012. I replied back with my honest perspective from a Christian's viewpoint with the way we all have a choice on where we will spend eternity, and shared my own personal relationship with Christ and my faith. But, since that time we have resolved our differences, peacefully with kind, respectful words and well wishes to one another. However, now is a good time for me to take a brief exit also from the group for a while so I can return to some other neglected and (honestly) more important writing projects than doing Friday Fictioneer stories each week. I have made it a 2013 goal to finish my older, original novel and get it edited, and finished. I want to then start submitting it and am also working on other stories for possible submission also somewhere. Ironically, many of them are just larger versions of 1,500 word + count stories using the little Friday Fictioneer stories with the same characters and plot, enlarged and elaborated on. I hope you have a great year in 2013 and stay in touch.

  4. Hi Lora,
Thanks for the photo and the story behind it. Based on your facebook posts, I'm thinking our political situations are similar in a way. You're a conservative in liberal New York and I'm a liberal in conservative Arkansas! I guess we both like swimming against the current! Thanks for the view from the 46th floor. Hope your elevator never goes out of service! Thanks for the comment on my story. Ron
